MISSION
Oceania-Asia Society for Information Integrity & Safety (OASIIS) aspires to address the complex challenges surrounding misinformation and disinformation collectively across one of the world’s most linguistically and culturally diverse regions.
The idea was first discussed among media professionals at the Trusted Media Summit conference in Singapore in 2023, eventually leading to the election of Steering Committee members representing five sub-regions — Central, East, South, and Southeast Asia, as well as the Pacific.
In 2025, we received the ENGAGE grant from the Global Fact Check Fund, administered by the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN).
Since then, the Steering Committee has drafted the alliance’s constitution and registered it as a not-for-profit legal entity (a company limited by guarantee) in Australia.
For 2026, the focus will be to strengthen OASIIS membership. To formally join OASIIS, please fill up this form: https://bit.ly/oasiismembershipform
