Hello! In this edition, we unveil a fresh new look for the newsletter and share a few updates.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the nomination process for the OASIIS advisory council has been postponed until further notice. The same applies to the AMA session.

If you have submitted an application to join the advisory council, rest assured that it is still being considered.

OASIIS has decided to take it slower and redouble our efforts to strengthen the membership drive across the different sub-regions before re-activating the elections for the council members. If you have further questions on the matter, please reach out to us.

Takeaway: The council nomination and election process is currently on hold.

OASIIS is proud to collaborate with MAFINDO (Masyarakat Antifitnah Indonesia) to present a special webinar in Bahasa Indonesia and English this upcoming Tuesday. For our Indonesian friends who would like to comfortably converse in Indonesian about OASIIS, and ask any questions live, this is the time to join us. Or drop in to just say hello👋.

We will keep the membership registration open indefinitely.

If you know of any organisations or networks in your country that might be interested in what we're doing here, please spread the word.

At OASIIS, for the near term, we are interested in collaborating on small-scale events on a country by country basis, for starters, in topics on capacity building and information literacy. For the long term, we are planning to facilitate and/or co-host regional events similar to the Gen Asia Challenge. If any of these are of interest to you, do reach out via email.

OASIIS will be attending this year's GlobalFact in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 17 to 19 June 2026, and would love to meet up with fellow fact-checkers and other APAC stakeholders who will also be there. If you're already in the OASIIS WhatsApp group, let's arrange it there. 💬
